Forehead Lift
Serving Phoenix, Scottsdale, Gilbert, Chandler, Glendale and surrounding areas in Arizona
A forehead lift, or brow lift, refreshes the forehead and opens up the eye area. A sagging or drooping brow and worry lines can make you look tired, unhappy, and older than you really are. The forehead lift targets these problems, lifting a heavy brow and smoothing lines, giving you a refreshed, more youthful appearance. Dr. Gawley offers both the traditional and endoscopic brow lifts.
Benefits of forehead lift
Sun exposure, stress, repetitive facial expressions, and even genetics can lead to a deeply lined and furrowed forehead and/or heavy, sagging eyebrows. This can add years to an otherwise youthful appearance. Benefits of a brow lift include:
- Reduce deep furrows in the forehead
- Remove frown lines
- Lift heavy or drooping eyebrows
- Open up the eye area
Some patients find that a browlift addresses issues they believed would be solved by eyelid surgery.
How it works
In both traditional and endoscopic brow lifts, the muscles in your forehead will be altered by tightening and/or releasing the appropriate muscles depending on your unique needs. This will smooth the wrinkles and lines in your forehead and raise heavy or drooping eyebrows.
A traditional brow lift can remove a significant amount of excess skin, when needed.
Applications
A forehead lift can be performed alone or in combination with other procedures. Many patients choose a brow lift in combination with blepharoplasty (eyelid surgery) to completely rejuvenate the eye area.
The brow lift can also be used in conjunction with a facelift or neck lift to restore the youthful appearance of your entire face.
Traditional vs. endoscopic
The traditional brow lift technique or coronal browlift involves a hidden but longer scar in the hairline. It is more extensive than endoscopic surgery and can produce more dramatic results in patients with a significant amount of excess tissue. Dr. Gawley will help you decide which procedure is best for you.
Endoscopic brow lift is appropriate for most patients and is much less invasive. Tiny incisions are made, so there is virtually no scarring. A miniature camera allows Dr. Gawley to see the surgical area and make very precise adjustments to the muscle and tissue.
During your initial consultation Dr. Gawley will listen to your concerns and ultimate cosmetic surgery goals. Depending on your needs, overall health, the amount of excess tissue, and the condition of your skin he will recommend the type of surgery which will give you the most beautiful results.
