Help us help you!

We want you to get the most out of your consultation. If at all possible, it is best to make arrangements for small children to stay home rather than having them join us for your appointments.

Labiaplasty is one of the best options available for changing the appearance of your vulva for a wide variety of reasons. It can also be a great way to reduce certain symptoms like dryness or discomfort after things like childbirth. It’s common to hear a lot of misleading things about labiaplasty, so it can be helpful to know what to expect. As you schedule your consultation with Dr. Mahabir, here are some things to know about the process.

Your Consultation

During this first sit-down, you’ll discuss your goals for labiaplasty and why you’re considering the procedure. This can help Dr. Mahabir determine if it’s right for you. This is the best time to ask any questions you might have about what to expect. Dr. Mahabir will go over your medical history and discuss any potential complications based on your health. You’ll also decide on certain surgical techniques and preferences you have for your results.

Your Surgery

You’ll be able to return home after surgery, but you should make sure you have someone to drive you home and help you manage your recovery steps for the first few days. You’ll be given some care steps to follow and should make sure you’re prepared ahead of time with things like filling prescriptions, setting up a recovery area, and making sure things like childcare or pet care are taken care of.

Your Recovery

It’s normal to experience some discomfort after your surgery, but Dr. Mahabir will make sure you have prescribed medications to manage any pain. Additionally, you can use ice packs to manage swelling. The pain is usually worst in the first few days but should gradually subside. Some swelling is normal during this time. It can be a little bit uncomfortable to urinate, but using warm water on the area can reduce irritation and ease discomfort. It’s important to avoid sex during your recovery period. It’s best to wait six weeks until resuming, or until Dr. Mahabir clears you during your follow-up appointment.

Non-Surgical Option

If you are interested in a non-surgical option for vaginal rejuvenation, try our Femtouch procedure. To learn more about this popular option, check it out at MDSkin.
