NOSE JOB SURGERY – RHINOPLASTY
in Phoenix, Scottsdale, Tempe, Gilbert, Chandler, Glendale, Mesa and surrounding areas in Arizona
Rhinoplasty, or nose surgery, is still one of the most common cosmetic surgery procedures. Typically, Dr. Gawley performs rhinoplasty to improve the shape and appearance of your nose, but in some cases, rhinoplasty can correct breathing problems as well.
BENEFITS OF RHINOPLASTY
The shape and size of your nose affects the balance of your entire face. A misshapen or poorly proportioned nose can be the result of genetics, a birth defect, or injury. Regardless of the underlying cause of the nose problem, rhinoplasty can correct:
- Nose which is too large
- Nose which is too small
- Chin which appears too large or too small
- Humps and bumps
- Crooked nose
- Bridge which is too wide
- Misshapen bridge
- Bulbous tip
- Drooping tip
- Large nostrils
- Angle between the nose and mouth
- Overall profile
Rhinoplasty is one of the few cosmetic procedures that may be appropriate for patients under 18. In cases of severe deformity, rhinoplasty can be performed as early as 16 years of age and may greatly boost self-confidence and improve self esteem.
Older patients may choose rhinoplasty to correct a life-long problem, correct a deformity caused by injury, or to bring the profile in balance creating a more youthful appearance. Over time, as the mid-section of the face loses its plumpness, the nose can begin to appear more prominent and exaggerate the effects of aging.Watch Dr. Gawley Videos - Click Here
WHAT TO EXPECT FROM RHINOPLASTY SURGERY
The procedure itself is outpatient surgery that lasts about one to two hours. After your surgery you can expect some bruising and swelling and may have two black eyes. You may feel stuffy, but you should refrain from blowing your nose for one to two weeks. You should avoid sun exposure and bumping your nose for at least two months.
You will see a visible improvement after about a week, when the swelling subsides. Full results can take up to a year to show.
Sometimes a person’s nose will appear too large because the chin is actually too small, throwing the entire profile out of balance. During your initial consultation, Dr. Gawley will be able to tell you whether rhinoplasty is the best procedure for your unique situation.
