How it works

Recovery

Depending on the depth of your procedure, recovery can take two or three days or up to 10 days. Dr. Gawley will give you specific instructions for cleaning and caring for your skin after your procedure.

You can expect some pain, redness, and possibly swelling and scabbing during the first few days. Proper moisturizing and strict avoidance of sun exposure are imperative to a good recovery.

Candidates

Laser skin resurfacing is ideal if you want to look younger without surgery. The best candidates do not have folds of excess skin or dark skin. Laser skin resurfacing will restore elasticity and plumpness to your skin, but it does not remove excess skin. It can cause discoloration in dark skin.
